The real trouble starts at the lead-wire connection—that spot where the power feed hits the quartz tube. If you’re using cheap assemblies, that insulation can melt. Why the wires actually fail
It comes down to something called thermal creep. When the heater is humming along, heat doesn’t just stay in the element; it travels backward toward the wires.
