If you’ve ever looked at your electric bill after a heavy production run, you know that annealing is usually the biggest power hog in the shop. It’s frustrating. We wanted to fix that, so we built infrared (IR) heating lamps that stop wasting energy and start putting the heat exactly where it belongs. Here’s the thing about standard ovens: they spend way too much time heating up the air. Air is a terrible way to move heat. It’s slow and wasteful. Our IR lamps do things differently. They use shortwave radiation that goes straight through the glass surface to shake up the molecules inside. You aren’t fighting to keep a giant box of air hot; you’re heating the jewelry itself. It hits the annealing point much faster. That means your power supply isn’t working overtime, and you stop bleeding cash on your monthly kWh spend. Fitting them into your shop We didn’t want these to be a headache to install. These are industrial-grade tools, built with high-wattage quartz envelopes so they won’t crack under pressure. Plus, we used standard connectors like R7s or SK15. You can usually just pop them in as replacements for those old, tired bulbs you’re already using. We’ve got different lengths and voltages to fit whatever electrical panel you’ve already got bolted to the wall. Just a heads-up: if you go for a high-wattage setup to get more heat density, make sure your cabinet vents can handle the extra warmth around the lamp housing. You don’t want your gear overheating while the glass is getting perfect. What this actually means for your work The real win here is the thermal gradient. We’ve dialed in the wavelength so you don’t fry the surface of the piece while the core is still stressed and cold. It’s a relief. You’ll see way fewer pieces shattering during the cooling phase. Less scrap. Lower bills. It’s a simple trade: you invest in a better lamp up front, and you stop paying the “inefficiency tax” every single day you run your kiln.
